Bismillah Rahman ar-Raheem.
Look to nature and you will be amazed. The complexity, rhythms and beauty unmatched by what humans can make with our own minds and hands.
From the huge landscapes, skies above us, down to the tiniest macro details, nature even in its tiniest intricacy dwarfs us.
This feeling of smallness is very liberating. Worries, life dramas, slip away.
Nature makes us remember God. A lot of people feel this but don’t call what they are reminded of God, but they mean the same. They lead lives seeking out nature.
Immersed in the natural world, nothing man made in sight, we feel dwarfed and powerless. This reminds us there are forces greater than us.
When I see nature I see design, and when I see design I believe in a creator.
Some people ask me why I would leave behind a life of comfort in the West for a life of relative difficulty in the desert. The answer lies in nature. Here I am surrounded by nature, and through nature I remember God.
The life in nature is physically demanding, risky, makes for a leaner lifestyle. You concentrate on what really counts. But here remembering God is where peace is found.
Subhana Allah (glory to God) the world is a wonderful, fantastical place.
