bismillah rahman ar-raheem
Regardless of background, culture, religion, age, sex most people will agree that life has a way of surprising. If you had told 8 year old me that I would be married to a Bedouin man, living in the desert, wearing a Burka and practicing a strange Religion (Islam), with 2 children, I would have said you were mad. Actually I lie. 8 year old me may have said ‘yes I can see that’. I had quite an imagination. But 15 year old me would have said you were mad. For one thing; the last thing I wanted to do was get married and have children. Desert maybe, but MARRIED, CHILDREN NO WAY!
So life is full of surprises and here I am.
My blog is about being a Muslim revert, a woman, a mother, on living in & adopting another culture to ones birth culture, oh and on tourism (in no particular order, but the being a Muslim bit is probably the most important topic to me. That is because it informs and guides everything else).
The journey of life is one we all undertake, and I would like to show something of the common humanity we share, despite being strange to one another.
Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said,
“Islam began as something strange, and it shall return to being something strange, so give glad tidings to the strangers.” Saheeh Muslim, At Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Ahmad.
